Formulation of problem

Maps of buildings cannot be obtained in a format that suits different navigation or location systems. Usually the map is in image format and selection of all the walls and rooms takes a certain amount of time. The main problem that we focus on in our thesis is how to make this whole process automatic or at least poloatuomatic. This means that the system will be able to select individual elements (wall, door,..) according to the image. If some of them are incorrect, we will manually adjust them. The oppostie direction is also possible and that is when a few elements are manually added at the beginning and then the system automatically fill in the missing elements.
