The Goal:

  1. learn and understand the basics of EEG data preprocessing and ERP analysis in the Fieldtrip Matlab toolbox.
  2. learn how to perform brain oscillation analysis on EEG data.
  3. analyze EEG data of Kopco et al. (2021) to test the hypothesis that oscillatory components in the alpha-band correlate with spatial attentional effects observed behaviorally.
  4. Optional: perform source analysis and connection analysis on the data.

The plan:

  1. EEG signal preprocessing that contains multiple steps, like frequency filtering, epoching, noise filtering and artifact rejection.
  2. Oscillation analysis, that contains spectral density analysis and other types.
  3. Statistical analysis on the resulting output.
  4. Interpretations and outcomes.
